Jessica Hanson, LAc
"I believe that the most important step we can take to heal our planet is to first heal ourselves. Acupuncture and herbal medicine can be used to do this simply, effectively, and affordably."
Jessica is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who is committed to bringing natural medicine to her community. She holds a Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University and has studied herbal medicine with master herbalists such as Dr. Yongping Jiang and Matthew Wood. Jessica founded Southpoint Community Acupuncture after her experience working in an exclusive spa, where individuals were charged $150 for a single acupuncture treatment. She believes that holistic health care should not have to cost an arm and a leg, nor be given as charity, but instead should be shared as a human right. Southpoint utilizes a sliding fee scale of $15-$35 per visit in order to separate the issues of money and treatment.
Jessica loves her job and is passionate about natural medicine. She hopes you enjoy Southpoint and that it can be an important part of your community!
Carrie Nightshade, LAc
Carrie Nightshade graduated from MCAOM and is licensed both by the state and nationally. At the start of her educational adventure, Carrie knew she was drawn to the healing arts. Exploring many different options, she discovered acupuncture and was smitten with its view of the human body and its relationship to the world. After settling on acupuncture, she realized that the common

business model was not financially accessible to her community. Fortunately community acupuncture has become more popular and makes preventative health care available.
Carrie has a background in various alternative health care including Chinese and Western herbalism, massage therapy, hatha yoga, and reiki.
The only thing that Carrie loves more than the healing arts are her two amazing children, Burton and Hazel.
